Since Marc Jacobs took over the helm as Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton in 1997, there have been a steady stream of artist collaborations from the iconic tagged Stephen Sprouse bags to Richard Prince joke purses. Now, the luxury label is recognizing street art, working with three graf artists RETNA, Os Gemos and Aiko, on its Spring/Summer 2013 scarf collection. The Foulards D’Artiste collection takes the iconic monogrammed silk scarves and stoles and re-imagines them in each of the artists’ signature styles.
We were pretty taken with Kim Jones Fall Winter 2013 efforts for Louis Vuitton Taschen so happy for an excuse to take another look at Spring Summer 2013 collection, in stores now. Great detail on show here, particularly those smart accessories. Going backstage, coming?
he Bride Wore Black. It's a long way from the sunny optimism of Marc Jacobs' Spring show for Louis Vuitton Outlet to François Truffaut's famous movie. Vuitton's women's studio director, Julie de Libran, found inspiration in the 1968 film, and it gave the label's pre-fall collection a decidedly darker mood.
Louis Vuitton Schweiz was the word de Libran used, which makes sense. The only thing that was in more abundance than the color black was lace. Not just lace the fabric, which she used for a comparatively simple shift dress with patch pockets in suede and mink, but also lace prints and lace jacquards and lace debossing (embossing, but in reverse) techniques on silk twill. She packed a lot of textures into each outfit, and she had a lot to say in terms of silhouette, as well.
Lifting jackets from the Spring collection, she exaggerated their proportions, extending the shoulder seams and puffing up the sleeves. The squared-off, slightly two-dimensional results had an oversize, masculine feel, on the one hand, and on the other, suggested flat doll's clothes. Slightly challenging, in other words. It probably came off best with the swingy red "circle" coat that fell in an A-line trapeze from the shoulders.
Every major city in the world must have some Louis Vuitton Zürich boutiques inside. Bangkok, for example, has three that are at Emporium, Gaysorn, and Siam Paragon. Their window displays is exactly in uniform since the concept must follow the exact rule from the headquarter. However, each boutique has its specialty in the design of the facade or outsider wall. Louis Vuitton Taschen Outlet has the beautiful flower motif taken from Louis Vuitton classic monogram logo but appear in a very abstract way if you look the light up wall from a far. Damier motif that is explored deeply for women collection looks so vibrant at Louis Vuitton Gaysorn's outdoor facade. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the photo of Louis Vuitton at Emporium.
Change is apparently afoot at luxury brand Louis Vuitton Outlet Schweiz, after lackluster fourth-quarter sales. Louis Vuitton’s parent conglomerate, LVHM, owns a host of luxury spirits, including Hennessey, and counts Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan among its long list of high-end fashion brands.
